Deodorant, bras, and other myths

Plenty of rumors circulate about breast cancer. Here are the most common ones, cleared up quickly.

A bra does not cause breast cancer, and neither does an underwire bra. The myth is built on the idea of pinched off lymph vessels, but there is no evidence for it. Wear whatever is comfortable for you.

Deodorant and antiperspirant do not cause breast cancer, according to current knowledge. There is no scientific proof of any connection.

Breast size does not affect your risk either. Larger breasts are only sometimes a little harder to evaluate during an exam. Myths like these are stubborn, but they distract from what really counts: early detection and knowing your body. Injuries, implants, and breast size
